Covid-19 Update

Continuing the 2020 prize

After many discussions, we are proud to confirm the Brisbane Portrait Prize will continue in 2020. Now, more than ever, we need artists. We need them to help us understand the world, celebrate our heroes, and to broaden our thinking.

Finalists Exhibition

At this stage, we are also still hopeful that it will be safe to hold a Finalists Exhibition. However, if this is not the case, we will look to display the Finalists’ artworks digitally.

Live Events

Based on current social distancing requirements, all live events, which were due to run in the lead up to the Brisbane Portrait Prize, have been cancelled. A decision on live events due to run in October will be made closer to the time.

Supporting the Brisbane Portrait Prize

We acknowledge that these are certainly trying times for many people. However, if you are in a position to invest in the future of the Brisbane Portrait Prize, we encourage you to support us with a tax-deductible donation.

A final thought

We will continue to work with artists and the public to encourage digital dialogue and engagement around the arts, portraiture, and the sitters. All are worth celebrating. Especially now.

If you have any ideas, questions or wish to contribute to the evolution of the 2020 Brisbane Portrait Prize, please drop us a line on info@brisbaneportraitprize.org
