Changes to Next Gen Closing Date + Live Sitting Requirements.

With less than 2 weeks to go until entries close for the 2021 Brisbane Portrait Prize, COVID has once again thrown us a curveball.

So today, the Brisbane Portrait Prize Board have two important announcements to help artists who may have been impacted by the latest lockdown.

For the Main Competition – we will now accept Zoom sittings.

In the interest of public health, it is essential that we all stay home at the moment.

However, we appreciate that some artists have not yet completed a live sitting for their portrait. With this in mind, we will accept a virtual sitting for 2021.

For the Next Gen competition – the entry deadline has been extended until 6pm Sunday 29 August.

Since the current outbreak has impacted a number of Brisbane Schools, many students are required to stay at home whilst their artwork is stuck at school.

With this in mind, we have extended the entry deadline by 2 weeks to allow for works to be completed when the students return to school.

Next Gen entries now close at 6pm on Sunday 29 August.
