About the sitter

David McCormack is a professional musician who has  released over 10 albums and was recipient of an APRA song writers award. He is a close friend of the artist and that explains the relaxed atmosphere of the sitting and the flow of conversation while the portrait was being painted directly from Life. David is a seminal figure in the Brisbane rock and roll scene ..a contemporary of Powderfinger and Silverchair, Custard achieved major success and were the only Australian musicians to have a sponsorship deal with Fender aside from Tommy Emanuel. He works with television soundtracks like Doctor Doctor or Rake. David also features in the popular and newly international childrens hit show. Bluey, as the voice of the father Dog.
