The Brisbane Portrait Prize is all about celebrating Brisbane portrait artists and their sitters, while encouraging public engagement with the arts.

There are a number of ways you can get involved with the Brisbane Portrait Prize including:

Enter the Prize

In 2020, all Brisbane Portrait Prize entries were eligible for the $50,000 Lord Mayor’s Award which is supported by Brisbane City Council. A further $37,000 of category prizes.

The prize will be awarded to the best portrait produced by an artist with a connection to Brisbane and of a subject with a connection to Brisbane.

Visit the Exhibition

The 2021 Finalists exhibition will be held at the Brisbane Powerhouse throughout the month of October.

The exhibition will showcase the works of finalists from the main competition as well as the finalists of the Next Gen competition.

Full details about the 2021 exhibition including will be available in September.

Become a volunteer

We are always on the hunt for passionate and reliable volunteers to help us run the Finalists Exhibition and other key activations throughout the year.

Volunteering at the Brisbane Portrait Prize is a perfect way to immerse yourself in a flexible and rewarding, arts environment.

Become a donor

Donations of all sizes are gratefully received and play a key role in bringing the Brisbane Portrait Prize to life. 

Donations can be made via EFT, Cheque or Credit card.

All donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.

Join the Members Circle

The Brisbane Portrait Prize Members’ Circle has been created to support the annual running of the prize, while offering members a set of exclusive experiences.

You can become part of the BPP Members’ Circle through an annual tax-deductible donation of $500.
