About the work
I live on the Sunshine Coast and have enjoyed many trips to the art galleries in Brisbane. I have always admired the portraits hanging on the walls and the way they capture a moment in time, seen through the eyes of the artist.
My portrait is of Grace Tame an Australian activist, advocate for survivors of sexual assault and former Australian of the Year. Although not local to Brisbane, her message speaks to everyone and has inspired so many. I have portrayed Miss Tame, as photographed with former Prime Minister Scott Morrison at the Australia Day Awards in 2022, with the head of a lioness out of respect for her courage and grace in the face of adversity.
