About the artwork and sitter
Lincoln Austin is a Queensland based artist renowned for his exacting geometric sculptures. Created from wire and metal mesh, and descriptive of mathematical series, these works produce perplexing optical illusions and moiré effects.
This portrait of Lincoln and his dog, Fergus, was taken in his art studio surround by the materials he uses in his art.
Jason’s style of photography centres around capturing his subject’s backstory in one shot.
“Unlike a traditional portrait where it’s really tight and all about the person, mine is all about the person in their surroundings.”
