About the sitter
Since he moved to Australia from Italy with his wife 42 years ago, Francesco Fera had planned to build his own home. He’d studied building in San Remo as a teenager, learning rendering, plastering and masonry work on old church buildings. For over 26 years he has been building his “Little Jewel”, an Italian style home, here in the Brisbane suburb of Boondall. Frank now lives alone and is come to grips that his dream home may never be finished.
